The archaeological site Mariano Miró (1901-1914) was a rural town inhabited by almost 500 people, located next to the station under the same name of the Western Railroad, currently Department of Chapaleufú, La Pampa, Argentina. Between 2011 and 2014 were carried out tasks of topographic measurement, systematic surface collections, surveys and excavations; documentary reservoirs were consulted and interviews were conducted with local people. In this work, we analyze a set of breech-loading cartridges with an interdisciplinary approach that combines Archeology, Materials Engineering and Ballistics in order to discuss the social practices related to and ballistic analyzes. They allowed to observe marks and inscriptions, infer origins, estimate differences in sizes, distinguish diversity of ignition mechanisms, traces of use and manufacturing techniques, among other aspects
