Abstract

We cannot deny the political view of the History but, behind that fact, it is important to affirm that the scientific nature of historiographical research. this investigation is developed from a distinction between the political-ideological fact and the historiography, being its object the current law in the Western Missions territories of Uruguay from the different perspectives of jurists and historians. The following text is part of a research project that is trying to figure out the juridical status of the current order of the region by making a comparison between the canonical-Indian order, the Indian law and the Ecclesiastical law.
