Abstract

MOLINA, Eugenia. Entre susurros y rumores: la fidelidad a la Monarquía y el delito de lesa majestad real en una ciudad periférica del Imperio español (Mendoza, 1782). Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2012, n.44, pp.128-148. ISSN 1853-1784.

In this paper we attempt an intensive reading of a set of documents that relate to information held in Mendoza en early 1782, following rumors that accused a group of neighbors have expressed words insulting the monarch and Tupac Amaru accession. These sources should address several issues. First, reveal the effective dissemination of the Andean movements, and the reactions that could generate. Moreover, show the problem of community building loyalty to the Crown. Finally, these records may contribute to observe tension elements between old and new authorities, which likewise jurisdictional conflicts that might cause.
