Abstract

GALEANO, Diego. Civilización y delito: Notas sobre cuatro criminólogos argentinos. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2013, n.45. ISSN 1853-1784.

The aim of this article is to review four criminological works written in the early twentieth century by Eusebio Gómez, José Ingenieros, Miguel Lancellotti and Cornelio Moyano Gacitúa. The recent re-editions of these texts appear in a moment of rereading the legacy of local criminologists, from a look that rescues their ethnographic work and their production of empirical evidence. It also suggests that this new look is able to illuminate sparsely analyzed zones of the criminological knowledge, as the case of the numerous references to "civilized crimes": fraud, corruption and swindle.

Keywords : Argentinean Criminologist; Social History of Crime; Modernity.
