In order to streamline processes and decompress the overcrowded prisons the province government prioritized reforms to the criminal justice system administration. Historiography has usually focus on pointing out the changes introduced to the criminal law. However, it remains to be analyzed the extent of the reform atmosphere impact on addressing pending shortcomings such as the increasing of the judicial staff and judicial structure and the strengthening of the judicial budget. With the intention of identifying the projected and accomplished reforms we will focus on the analysis of the debates held at the legislature of the Buenos Aires province.
