In this article, I briefly analize the copious editorial work of the Institute of Legal History , published between 1939 and 1983. After summarizing in a succinct chronicle the development of the Institute, its scientific and university significance and the academic profile of its directors, I consider the content of the various conferences, communications, lessons and collections published in the period that displayed its activity. I highlight those works and articles that according to my teaching experience, I evaluate more significant for the teaching of History of Law. I dedicate the final part to the study of the Journal of the Institute, its most relevant sections and contents, which have conferred international value, and especially some articles of the Chronicles section, which comment on the celebration of the First Meeting of Indian Law Historians and the First Conferences on the Argentine Law History.
