The work of Hugo Sinzheimer, one of the most important figures of German labor law and key figure in the Assembly that gave rise to the famous Weimar Constitution, has transcended outside Germany thanks to his disciples, most of them exiles. This article reviews the biography and work of Ernesto Katz, who studied law in Frankfurt am Main and worked as a lawyer and judge in Berlin in times of Weimar Republic. Katz arrived in Argentina at the end of the 1930s, and adapted quickly to Argentina. The hypothesis of this research argues that Katz acted as a translator of the ideas of Sinzheimer in Argentina, not through a translation of his work in the literal sense, but from introducing Sinzheimer´s ideas in his own work and establish himself as a reference of German labor law in Argentina.
