Revista SAAP [online]. 2011, vol.5, n.1, pp.93-130. ISSN 1853-1970.

In that context, its analysis as a means of social influence has founded a rich area of research that cannot be ignored. The article analyzes in detail the political role played by the mass media during the implementation of neoliberal reforms in Argentina. More precisely, it proposes to investigate the role of mass media and their «organic intellectuals» in the political legitimacy of the first government of Carlos Menem (1989-1995).
