Abstract

KORSTANJE, Maximiliano. El miedo político bajo el prisma de Hannah Arendt. Revista SAAP [online]. 2014, vol.8, n.1, pp.99-126. ISSN 1853-1970.

Although the fear is a grounding emotion present in all beings, only humans tend to structure it not only by manipulation of the environment but also the time reference. In consequence, humankind can make from fear a geographical landscape or even a narrative. Every society experiences a diversity of frights based on the disparities of their cultural restructuration. Nevertheless, only the fear (by means of the feeling of insecurity) allows the passage from democracy to dictatorship. In such a context, this article places under the lens of scrutiny four valuable works, authored by Hannah Arendt, What is politics?, The Human Condition, Eichmann in Jerusalem and The Origins of Totalitarianism.

Keywords : Fear; Security; Vita active; Arendt; Totalitarianism.
