Image and color establish an intimate relationship in pictorial and technological evolution. It is well known the role played by the senses in animal life. But unlike the rest, the human being has adopted it in their interaction with the environment. Naturally, color vision acquired an essential role since the beginning of times, but not only in art, design or architecture. Its importance in the production of "meaning" has strong cultural and psychological implications, revealing its importance as an engine for development and its expression correlates with communication. This article offers a thoughtful look that includes exploration of pictorial color and the various forms that current technology offers to represent it. Closely related approaches in the evolution of expressive image (technological-historical), which together extend the field of the visual expressive. Throughout the text we get deeper on the analysis on the image related to the past - present and future.
