Abstract

As a possibility to discuss and contextualize what we believe to be the essence of Etnodesign, as a concept, so used by designers to label products with an ethnic "aesthetic", in this article we present a brief definition about its composition, the time in which we construct a narrative based in the analysis of the artifacts constructed by the faber, Afro-descendente, Silvio Nunes Pinto. This, in his work, makes explicit the process of creation, the lived memories, through the signs embedded in the objects and the references of an Afro-Brazilian Etnodesign connected with the being, the 'nonthing', and a metaproject that enables us to redefine our place as designer and researcher.
