The Urban Observatory project of Greater Santa Fe-Paraná (PICT ANPCyT) is part of a line of work begun several years ago. Its overall objective is to produce a working knowledge of urban territory, i.e., knowledge in the service of better territorial policies. In the particular case at hand, the "object" of better land policies would be the metropolitan conurbation phenomenon that has developed from the intensification of interactions between the cities of Santa Fe and Paraná, and a number of smaller urban centers gravitating around both provincial capitals.
