The objective of this article is to show the National State’s involvement in the management of railway plans, since Argentine railroads were nationalized in 1948. From that moment on, railway infrastructure was under public property, demanding systematization which aimed at decreasing redundancies because many companies had "colonized" the urban and territorial space. Given that this infrastructure was in the public domain, three government strategies with different ideologial approaches were implemented, until the privatization of 1989, leaving their traces in the urban structure of the city of Santa Fe.
