The intended purpose is to analyze the transformationsin the beekeeping production sector of Buenos Aires from the expansion of soybean cultivation and the intensification in the use of agrochemicals in the period 1990-2010; with emphasis on the evolution of the production levels and in their linkages with the international market. To achieve this objective is considered the reconstruction of the history of beekeeping in Argentina, the sector situation in the given period, and the conditions and challenges faced in the pampean region in the early twenty-first century. The theoretical and methodological strategies are based on the use of data collection techniques of primary and secondary sources of information.
