The current dynamics of La Plata’s Horticultural Belt seem to fit better if interpreted from the agglomeration economies perspective. Thus, an activity historically characterized by its fragmented and decentralized production nowadays shows a spatial concentration and close coordination with the links in supply of inputs and marketing. The aim of this work is to develop the influence and dependence on an existing service in La Plata’s horticultural zone: the nursery garden. It seeks to identify the reasons for its emergence, evolution and current importance and dependence. Also to describe their interrelationships with seed companies and agrochemical shops. Finally, the nursery garden role in horticultural agglomerate of La Platais characterized. It is concluded that nursery garden could be considered a case of external economy, cause and consequence of increasing competitiveness in the productive space.
