Abstract

This article describes the physical-spatial aspects of the public space in the Commune 7 of the city of Montería through the measurement of the qualitative deficit as determinant for its use; and the social characteristics of the users who access it, after considering the preferences of use and the access to the scenarios, the relation between the occupation, the age and the gender, as well as, the association between the occupation, schedule and the frequency. Data and primary information (observation and surveys) were collected during the first half of 2015. The inadequate conditions in the public space make it difficult to access and use, existing infrastructures do not respond to the preferences and interests of the population groups (age, sex) and their occupations, which affects the intensity of use and the qualities of the relationships that citizens live.
