RIQUELME BREVIS, Hernán y RIQUELME BREVIS, Matías. Representing space: daily mobility experiences based on map creation in La Araucanía, Chile. Estudios Socioterritoriales [online]. 2018, vol.23. ISSN 1853-4392.
The present article summarizes different experiences of social and visual representation of the role of the railway as a mean of transportation used daily by people from La Araucanía. By using a qualitative methodology, it was possible to symbolize the railway user's experiences and explore the social connotation of a public transportation mean in people's daily routines and the places they frequent. After the analysis of the maps created by the study subjects, we could identify highly significant places regarding the surrounding. These places represent different mobility dynamics based on travel time, transit areas and daily routines.
