Abstract

PALADINO, Mónica. El triunfo de Cupido (Ov. Am.1,2): Una nueva elegía para nuevos lectores. Argos [online]. 2009, vol.32, n.2, pp.165-180. ISSN 1853-6379.

The innovation of Am. 1,2 is Cupid's image, now a guiding god of a particular kind of poetry and an exclusive cause of the servitium amoris. The god of love and love poetry is presented as a peculiar triumphator. The interpretation of this characterization gives us the key to read a poem collection that is not only innovating, but it is also binded to the genre norms determined by the author's forerunners. The study of the language, images and compositional structure are the foundation of this approximation to Ovid's literary programme in Amores and to the new reader, to whom this work is addressed.

Keywords : Metapoetry; Cupid; Ovidian elegy.
