In this article we are trying to conceptually distinguish the diff erences between secularization and laicity in order to analyze and compare some data from a national survey developed in Argentina by our research team. The paper will finish with a deeply refl ection about the relationship between the researcher, his studies, and duties of the researcher citizen related to the consolidation of democracy.
