The analysis of the masculinities in Latin America has tended to reifiy the man's figure as an agent holder of cultural capitals proned to the domination, that analysis had emphasized the subjective transformations, but had left in second place the structural powers as able to change. Among those masculine cultural capitals, the religious is seen as one intrinsically linked to the violence, misogyny and reproducer of androcentric values transcendentally legitimated on space of sacrality. The objective in this paper is the ethnographical deconstruction of such double helix reification about the masculine and the religious, based on the Mexican Protestantism context. The sermon (kerygma) will be understood as a possible discursive de-polarizing of the masculine/feminine opposition, because of this ritual exercise include like a third alterity at the divinity, confessed masculine, but ambiguous inside the religious experience. For this purposes, this paper will pay attention in the cultural production of sermon, and the institutional production of the preacher. With this epistemic platform of the masculinities in the Protestantism, we will able to understand the transits to the gender equality inside several Protestant Church in Mexico from their own discursive symbolism.
