Resumen

GAONA POVEDA, Juan Carlos. Representations of Colombian evangelical subject in their regeneration speech during the first half of the 20th century. Soc. relig. [online]. 2018, vol.28, n.49, pp.135-164. ISSN 1853-7081.

This article aims to determine how evangelicals represented themselves as social subjects in Colombia during the first half of the twentieth century. Representations that shared common elements with others religious, cultural and political groups in Latin America, which signed up in a discursive framework constituted on the idea of regeneration of the population. Thus, it will seek finding contextual nuances, which allow locating a certain singularity of the really evangelical in the concrete national scenario. The value of this analysis lies in the visibility of other historical subjectivities that from the religious point of view were shown as alternatives in the midst of societies whose leadership did not provide much room for diversity. Primary documentary sources were the evangelical newspapers that circulated systematically during the period and whose analyses are made from the theoretical postulates of Serge Moscovici and some of his followers.
