Resumen
DVOSKIN, Nicolás. The "Argentinean Social Security Program": a catholic-developmentalist project for 1960's Argentina. Soc. relig. [online]. 2018, vol.28, n.50, pp.86-106. ISSN 1853-7081.
This paper consists in an analysis of an Argentinean social security reform proposal written and discussed during the sixties: "Argentinean Social Security Program". This project is highlighted because of its belonging to the catholic thought, especially for its references to the catholic economic thought. As long as we understand that it does not dismiss a belonging to the developmentalist consensus of its time, we define it as a catholic-developmentalist alternative. In this paper we analize its history, theoretical foundations, the life experience of its members, the context of a decade characterized by a permanent discussion on the social security system and the political struggle that arose around it since it was released. Emphasizing in its economic dimensions, we use it as means to get closer to the catholic economic thought. We claim that reading and analysing the economic foundations of a public policy reform program -in this case, concerning social security- founded in catholic thought can lead us to conclusions on the catholic economic thought and to its linkages with the developmentalist paradigm.
