Floristic survey trips in the Timbauva establishment, San Alonso, Corrientes Province, Argentina allowed the discovery of a new species of the genusSida(Malvaceae). The species is described and illustrated; information on the conservation status of the taxon and the habitat where it grows is provided. Similarities and differences with related taxa are discussed and a key is included to differentiate the Argentinean species of this section.
