Summary: The presence of two species ofGomphocarpus(Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae) that grow spontaneously in Argentina is reported here:G. fruticosus(cultivation escaped) andG.physocarpus(naturalized). Both species are described, and their geographical distribution, uses, pollination and dispersal are indicated. In addition, the naturalization status of these species in the country is analyzed.
