Resumen

MANSO, Marina Lucrecia; STUDDERT, Guillermo Alberto; FORJAN, Horacio José  y  SAN MARTINO, Silvina. Effect of contrasting tillage systems on some properties of a molisol of Tres Arroyos under different previous uses. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Agrar., Univ. Nac. Cuyo [online]. 2012, vol.44, n.1, pp.85-99. ISSN 1853-8665.

The "agriculturization" process is defined as the increasing and continuous land use for cropping instead of livestock production or mixed production. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of ten years of continuous cropping with no-tillage (SD) and conventional tillage (LC) after different previous uses, on physical and biochemical soil properties of a Petrocalcic Paleudoll. Soil bulk density (DAP), penetration resistance (RP), structural stability (EE) and total, particulate (COP) and associated to the mineral fraction carbon (COA), were evaluated in a long term experiment and in an undisturbed condition (Park). Bulk density did not differ among treatments and between them and the Park. Penetration resistance was higher under SD than under LC. EE was higher under SD than under LC whereas the Park showed the highest EE. The undisturbed condition showed the highest COP content; however, there were no differences among treatments. After ten years of cropping under SD no significant improvement was observed in the evaluated soil properties respect to LC. Regardless of the tillage system employed, continuous cropping has led to soil compaction and EE loss.

Palabras clave : No-tillage; Conventional tillage; Soil quality.
