ALIAGA, Felipe; BARACALDO, Vanessa; PINTO, Lisa y GISSI, Nicolás. Imaginaries of Exclusion and Threat Around the Venezuelan Immigrant in Colombia. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2018, n.36, pp.61-83. ISSN 1853-984X.
This article aims to show how the social imaginary around the Venezuelan immigrant in Colombia can be constructed from the written press, taking as a subject of study articles of the newspapers El Tiempo and El Espectador, mainly during the years 2016 and 2017, period in which immigration increases. The correlation of the imaginary is established from the perspective of Manuel Baeza, with the concept of nationalism from Jürgen Habermas and the generation of social uncertainty by Arjun Appadurai. In the analysis it is possible to observe that the theoretical categories are reflected in what constitutes an excluding imaginary and immigration as a threat.
