The following paper presents the findings of a research on police institutional violence in the city of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, during 2015-2016. Its main objective is to locate and analyze practices of police harassment in such city. In order to do so, we analyze the way in which the coercive forces were deployed in two social territories of Mar del Plata as a governmental security policy. Also, the forms that the practice of police harassment in the social territories analyzed are presented. And finally, the case of one of the young people interviewed is analyzed. The methodological strategy used consisted of semi-structured interviews with young people, neighbors, territorial referents, and participant observation based on the assiduous presence in the selected territories.
