A series of reflections on the systems of evaluation of science and about the role of journals in that context are in this text. These systems have been questioned in recent years, since they promote iniquity for researchers but especially for journals in the Latin American region and the Global South, while excluding them instead of improve the journals to make the science of the region more visible. This reflection has been elaborated from the own experience and counting on part of the knowledge that has been published in the recent years, to end in the possible solutions that the problem could have.
