Resumen

JORGE NAVARRO, Marcelo Gaston. La escuela experimental: Maestra Jacoba Saravia (1957-1960). Propuesta educativa (Online) [online]. 2015, n.43, pp.131-138. ISSN 1995-7785.

This piece of work intends to knowing and understanding pedagogical development in primary schools in Salta by late 1950’s and early 1960’s, connected to its cooperation to the foundation of new experiences in the area. A unique experience taking place in urban public school is borne in mind. In this case, it is “Maestra Jacoba Saravia” experimental school, beginning near the end of the 50’s in Salta City, and created by The Psychological and Educational Sciences Institute in Tucuman’s National University with a view to experimenting and investigating Teaching and Learning in school children. Its development by team work methodology as well as the experimentation in script letter, show not only a clear influence of the so called “New School”, but mainly the pedagogical contributions from French Roger Cousinet and Robert Dottrens to the times’ pedagogy. This experimental school eventually became an innovation icon and reference to Salta’s education, being often subject to critique; however having great influence in the local teacher formation.
