The field of educational knowledge production in Argentina can be characterized as a space with low levels of internal communication and coordination, which, at the same time, has experienced a significant process of expansion and diversification during the last three decades. The objective of this article is to offer a description of academic journals in the field of education and to analyze to what extent the features of these publications express -and reinforce-some the main characterisitics of education research in Argentina. This problematic is part of the processes of “disciplinarization” of a field of knowledfe, which involves as one of its main components the conformation of communication networks and circuits.
