The relationship university-community was a challenge in the 60s. It turned into out-of university actions that intended to democratize knowledge, to improve life conditions of those in need, to assist in the creation of social organizations and to put into practice the concepts of popular education. Recalling such experiences almost 50 years later allows us to dive into the records of an educational pattern for students, graduates, university professors and beneficiaries, to recover images and values and to review principles and actions within the frame of a reformist project at UBA. Focusing the analysis on the Center for Integral Development invites us to the discussion of certain categories such as popular education, adolescents, social change, knowledge transmission, cultural production, university policies and professional formation. Doing so based on the testimonies given by characters provides us with the versions and opinions of those who were directly involved. At the same time, they review their opinions, structure and question suppositions, and materialize ideas which enrich the social-cultural estate at UBA.
