The aim of this article is to analyze the control of public schools under the Military Civic Dictatorship in Chile (1973 - 1990), from the case of the Experimental School of Girls of Santiago. Specifically, it answers the question of how the Dictatorship imp acted the Chilean school system. Based on the analysis of primary sources such as legislative documents, ministerial circulars, government reports and press editorials consulted in the main archives of the country, in addition to photographs and documentat ion pertaining to the archives of the studied school, the investigation delves into the intervention of the School institutions by the Armed Forces after the Military Coup. The sources analyzed show a strong transformation of everyday school life due to th e ideological control of teaching. To demonstrate this point, the creation of the Manolita Cañizares School Brigade is prese nted in the studied school
