This article examines the visitors' notes contained in the registry books of the only school that existed on Easter Island between 1939 and 1967 (understood under the concepts of school form and discipline). These notes are found in the school records from the period and account for the school as an institution and in general, of the type of education provided in the Island. Our analysis shows that conceptually, the school performance and pedagogical work assessment ranged from a highly positive one - thus r econfirming the negative nature of the local culture to efficiently manage a school system - to a more critical approach with respect to the adequacy of the school system to the local requirements.
