Abstract

Working with hi storical and ethnographic sources, we analize the transformations of the public and private educational proposals and the changes of the strategies and ways of participation of the mbyà - guaraní in formal education, in a rural social context where inter - eth nic relations already lead several generations. With this objective we reconstruct significant moments of the incidence that school as an institution has had in the relationship between creoles , mbyà - guaraníes and settlers. In this sense, we focus on the r ecognition of Intercultural Bilingual Education as a specific modality by the National Education Law enacted in 2006 and its antecedents.
