This study aims to give visibility to the content of the work New Course of Philosophy, by Nicolas Eugenie Géruzez, published in 1833, in France, and its circulation in Brazil. For that, some questions were necessary: how and where did this work circulate in 19th century Brazil?, what are the guidelines for teaching Philosophy in the work New Course of Philosophy? For this analysis, we take the referred work not only as an object, but also as a source of studies. As such -source- we will also make use of the newspapers that circulated in Brazil during the time of the Empire, when the work was announced. In the search for clues to the circulation of this work, we used the indicative paradigm, proposed by Carlo Ginzburg. The New Course of Philosophy, by Géruzez, circulated in Brazil in the 19th century with various translations and publications, one of the most widespread being that of Lopes Gama, published in 1840, in Pernambuco, and with diffusion in the Provinces of Rio de Janeiro, Paraíba, Maranháo, Minas Gerais, Bahia, among others.
