The dialogues between the history of education, cultural history and intellectual history are not new, but in recentyears there have been renewed approaches. Likewise, there is an abundant literature on cultural magazines, which shows a growing interest in these collective enterprises. Gradually, journals have ceased to be conceived only as sources, and have become objects of specific study. The articlepresents an analysis of the Revista de Ciencias de la Educación (RCE) (1970-1975), directed by Juan Carlos Tedesco and made up of young educational scientists and pedagogues. The work reconstructs, from the original testimonies of its protagonists and the documentary analysis, the itinerary and insertion in the political, cultural, pedagogical and magazine field of the RCE in its five years of existence. It is suggested that, in line with the appearance of other cultural magazines in the late 1960s or early 1970s, the context of the emergence of the RCE was modulated by various modernization dynamics and the political commitment of a plethora of young people. Moreover, based on the analysis of the political-editorial strategy of the magazine, its ways of inserting itself into the aporias of the period as well as its internal dynamics, it is suggested that the RCE itinerary was marked by three stages. Pioneering magazine in the educational field, the RCE is a decisive station in the investigation of the history of the vernacular educational critical theory.
