This paper aims to describe a series of matches between linguistic conceptions of Baltasar Gracian and Jacques Lacan. In the first part, I compare the reflections on "wit" proposed by both authors. In the second part, I reveal a number of differences that nevertheless persist between the two conceptual systems. In the conclusions, I propose a reflection on contemporary uses of the Baroque.
