HERMIDA, Carola. Anesthetizing the violence in literature": On Avant-Garde(s) andPedagogy(-ies). CELEHIS [online]. 2014, n.28, pp.119-142. ISSN 2313-9463.

In the early twentieth century, during its "foundation", Argentinian literature assumed an exemplary role in shaping national identities. Therefore, some intellectuals marginalized from this initial corpus the contemporary manifestations, considered linguistic and politicaly dangerous. From that initial gesture, along the century, several projects that demonstrated the power of this inaugural operation and hindered the movement of certain artistic expressions of rupture in the social practices (and particularly in school and disclosure practices) happened. Hence, the marginalization of avant-garde texts in attempts to build literature from a pedagogical imperative may not be only caused by certain reactionary routines characteristics of school equipment, but also by certain rhetorical, political and educational imperatives that conditioned the construction of Argentinian literature since its inception.

Keywords : Argentinian literature; History; canon; vanguard - pedagogical discourse.
