Resumen
RODRIGUEZ PERSICO, Adriana. Contradicciones modernas en las crónicas de Rubén Darío. CELEHIS [online]. 2016, n.31. ISSN 2313-9463.
During the Nineteenth Century, the chronicle was the most celebrated literary genre. Rubén Darío cultivated it to perfection through a large scope of tones, subjects and inflections. We've become accustomed to Dario as an astute and curious observer, strolling through the streets of our major metropolises, such as Paris Madrid or Buenos Aires , registering what he sees with a bright, light touch. However, there is another Darío who examines the miseries and conflicts brought on or exacerbated by Modernity. Here, we will focus on the different aspects of this 'darker' vision: one that reveals the hidden face of drastic changes. Our intention is to show how the Nicaraguan writer used what has been considered the frivolous form of the chronicle to formulate a series of reflections and questions about his own moment in modernity.
