Abstract

SALTO, Graciela. Memoria, tradición y lenguaje en los ensayos de Horacio Castellanos Moya. CELEHIS [online]. 2016, n.31. ISSN 2313-9463.

The possibility of memory and narration of the events of political violence since the mid-nineteenth century to the present has led to a remarkable memoirist movement in recent decades. The work of Horacio Castellanos Moya ( Tegucigalpa , 1957) stands out, among other contemporary authors, for the complexity and innovation implicit in a literary project focused on inventing fictions about the memory of Central American trauma. This article reviews some of the images and strategies that posit memory as an instrument of symbolic mediation between the traumatic events of history and the horizon of possibilities of fiction and language in the volume Breves palabras impúdicas. Un ensayo y otras conferencias (San Salvador, 2010) and La metamorfosis del sabueso. Ensayos personales y otros textos (Santiago de Chile, 2011).

Keywords : Horacio Castellanos Moya - Essay - Memory - Language - Latin American Literature.
