This paper proposes an approach to the David Viñas novel The owners of the land, published in 1958, as from broad categories arising from theoretical fields linked. This fields are focused on the one hand; in relations between literature, archive and memory; on the other, the link between politics and literature. David Viñas represents a very important figure, mainly as a critic, but also in his role as novelist around this tension between culture and "political reality".
