In the present work we will focus in the analysis of two novels of Jorge Semprún, Autobiografía de Federico Sánchez and Adiós, luz de veranos., with the main goal of unraveling the metaphors that the author uses to present us the reconstruction of his memory. Taking the babuschka as the most important of these figures, suggested by the author himself, we present a reading of his work as if it were a game of Russian dolls. At the same time, we will observe how this game points constantly to problems surrounding the origins, the roots and the homeland.
