This paper characterizes Darío as a two-faced writer. His work summarizes the Nineteenth Century legacy, the romanticism and the symbolism, and he is a forefather of the avant-garde and the Twentieth Century Hispanic American Literature. This situation is noticeable in Darío's works publishing difficulties: since the books arranged by Darío himself to the different Spanish or American Complete Works projects; from the Antología de la poesía hispanoamericana by Marcelino Menéndez y Pelayo (1892) to Ignacio Zuleta's edition of his Obra poética (Castalia, 2016). After reflecting on those editorial projects development and destiny, the article reconsiders the disciplinary place of the Philology in the age of information. A classical phase of the Philology was ended by the communication computerization: the phase related to textual fixation. But the demands on a new cultural heritage project are open, in accordance with the critical debate and the market rationality, always present in Darío's work.
