What place does the body of a writer occupy in public space? And what place should the dead body of a writer occupy in the public management of his or her memory? The goal of this article is to take the life and works of Rosalía de Castro as testing ground to research how public institutions and other bodies in charge of preserving the cultural heritae (for example, the heir of an author) use the literary legacy of poets.
