A personal chronicle by Saúl Sosnowski, the founder and director of the literary journal Hispamérica.  It covers the circumstances that led to its launching in Buenos Aires in 1972 (and printing in the U.S. since 1979), its aims, structure, evolving nature of its various sections as integral to the region's history, the profile of its contributors, and Hispamérica's ongoing place in Latin America's literary-cultural system and traditions.
