The new international order, generated by globalization and the crisis of nation-state produces configurations that permanently redefine the limits of sovereignty, authority, work and territory. For this reason often arise concepts and analytical categories that attempt to show this new mobile and complex nature in terms of structure, process, agents and actors. This kind of concept usually appears frequently when it comes to issues of border issues such as discipline or Beck would call “transnational social spaces”, ie the political, economic and social transnational expanded or which are defining the fate of societies or communities. So concepts are highly polysemous or new product over the vagueness and lack of a prior process of construction, not to have a complex structure but confused. In this paper, we propose to make some clarifications on the concept of “floating population” emerged in the corridors interdisciplinary sociology, anthropology, architecture and politics, but many margins of ambiguity or at least multiple uses.
