This paper aims to expose an approximation about the most important features and transformations of the Santa Fe horticultural belt in recent years. This approach is got by theoretical conceptualization of the production circuit whereas different links in the production chain, social actors involved and mechanisms and problematics in each of these issues were considered. Districts of Monte Vera and Recreo (La Capital department) are specially analyzed. On the one hand, the diversity of situations and economic agents that characterize the circuit are emphasized. Furthermore the Bolivian migrant labour, which in line with what has happened at national level, has been part of the restructuring of green belts is particularly highlighted. Primary and secondary sources of information, field work and the key informant interviews have represented a very valuable contribution to research in this instance.
