This article is included on the social and anthropological research project on Transformations in family agriculture. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of technological development on family agriculture in the Pampa region. In this article we review different studies that have addressed this issue focusing on the methodological and analytical criteria applied to sort, measure or interpret the presence of family agriculture exploitation on the Pampa region in Argentina. Finally, we will point out some conceptual elements that these studies have in common and we will set forth certain hypothesis and exploration lines regarding the family agriculture that will guide the ongoing field investigation.
