The article analyzes the recent failed attempts to remove from the city of Buenos Aires the Cattle market, a 32 hectares estate located in the neighborhood of Mataderos. The analysis of the case and the network of actors formed around it allows more general reflections on urban processes. The observation of a bounded area can question those trends considered general and unequivocal. The intention of the article is to analyze certain processes in a territorialized way, making more visible the actors that are involved locally, the dynamics generated, the various tempos and advocacy skills. Thus, based on the monitoring of the case, we try to understand how state and non-state actors are positioned, negotiating and disputing decisions and how, from pulse and brakes, they produce city.
