The political-economic process that Argentina went through between 2002 and 2015 can be called neo-developmentalist. It was characterized by a change in macroeconomic policies that, until 2008, promoted an economic recovery, with emphasis on industry and job creation. This article sustains the argument that neodevelopmentalism was the program of the industrial fraction of the power bloc, which sought to reproduce itself based on its own characteristics of dependence. Thus, its scope was determined by its capacity to appropriate value flows that would guarantee its expanded reproduction, which was in tension with other social classes -centrally, the popular classes and the agro-exporting fractions of the bloc in power. The article offers a periodization of neo-developmentalism based on the dynamics of accumulation and disputes over legitimization.
